One of the most iconic infrastructure facilities at Dubai International Airport is Concourse A – a dedicated terminal originally designed to serve the world’s largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380. In international rankings of the largest and most technologically advanced airport terminals, it consistently ranks among the top ten thanks to its scale and high level of service.
Concourse A covers an area of approximately 528,000 square meters, has 11 levels, and is equipped with 20 boarding gates, each adapted to accommodate Airbus A380 aircraft simultaneously. The terminal is directly connected to Terminal 3 via an underground automated people mover, ensuring fast, convenient passenger transfers.
A distinctive feature of Concourse A is its premium passenger service concept. It is the only airport terminal in the world with entire floors dedicated to serving first- and business-class passengers, including exclusive lounges, restaurants, relaxation areas, and spa facilities.
The terminal was commissioned in 2013 and has since remained a key element of Emirates’ infrastructure, as the airline is the world’s largest operator of Airbus A380 aircraft. Even amid the gradual diversification of airline fleets, Concourse A continues to play an important role in maintaining a high standard of passenger service and reinforcing Dubai’s status as one of the world’s leading aviation hubs.
