The Government of the UAE has set a course for the development the area of education. At present, the greatest number of international schools are located in the UAE.
The latest figures provided by the ISC Research, part of The International Schools Consultancy (ISC) show that the number of international schools increases in the MENA and South Asia regions.
The greatest number (4,346) of English-medium international schools is located in Asian region.
The statistics shows the following regional distribution of international schools, with the UAE in the top:
- UAE – 511 (1st)
- China – 480 (2nd)
- Pakistan – 439 (3rd)
- India – 411 (4th)
This list can be accomplished by three more countries, which occupy deserving places among the world's top 15:
- Saudi Arabia – 245 (5th)
- Egypt – 183 (9th)
- Qatar – 152 (14th)
An International and Private Schools Education Forum (IPSEF) took place in Dubai on September 29 to October 1. Within this forum if was noted the dynamic pace of development of the education sector in the UAE and in the entire Middle East. Experts are convinced that the UAE has achieved such success owing to the right approach to the education sector. This is due to the fact that the Government of the country treats education as the key to future prosperity.
Over 4 million students from all over the world study at English-medium international schools, compared to about 1 million students a decade ago.
